Soldiers storm Port Harcourt police station, arrest DPO over colleague’s murder

Soldiers storm Port Harcourt police station, arrest DPO over colleague?s murder
The chaos in Port Harcourt this morning (read here) reached a head as soldiers stormed the Rumukpakani Police station after one of their colleagues was killed by a policeman.
It all began after a policeman shot and killed a soldier following an argument along Ada George Road in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

Two soldiers who lodged at a hotel in Rumukpakani were said to have gone in search of food in the community, Cable reports. One of the soldiers had a gun and residents alerted the police to a man carrying a gun in the neighborhood. The soldiers were on mufti at the time, so the policemen had no idea who they were. They asked the soldiers to follow them to the station but they refused and an argument ensued. It got heated and a policeman opened fire, killing one of the soldiers. The other soldier ran back to inform his colleagues.

Slain soldier

Pandemonium broke out following the shooting and Ada George Road was locked down.
Once soldiers got news of the death of their colleague, they stormed the police station closest to the scene of the shooting and arrested the Divisional Police Officer and the murder suspect.
A Twitter user, who claims the slain soldier was her uncle, said he was killed just after dropping her father off at the airport. She gave his name as Akin and said he is a father. His last child is only three.
Below are screenshots of her account of the incident.
